Well Spring is in the air as the Sun is shinning and the weather is great. I can not tell you how many people come into the store during the winter time with depression or the blues. They want to take an herb or pill to help them out. Get out and exercise!

Remember we change to daylight savings time on March 9 which is the weekend following this one.

I have been told that we can expect weather in the next month and a half so it is time to get out and take a simple walk for 15 minutes. Recharge those batteries and just soak it all in.

Remember where we live, in the fresh air and for some a slower pace of life. Be thankful for all we have say a prayer every once in awhile. I am thankful that we do not have any traffic lights.

Oh I want warn everyone that the CHP is out and I almost got busted. I will tell the story at a later date.

So get your butt's out there and start to feel better. Turn off the TV and take a walk.

Chickens Can't Fly!

Don't spend major time with minor people.

If there are people in your life that continually disappoint you, break promises, stomp on your dreams, too judgmental, have different values and don't have your back to cry on during difficult times... that is not a friend.

To have a friend, be a friend. Sometimes in life as you grow, your friends will grow or go.

Surround yourself with people who reflect your values, goals, interests and lifestyle.

When I think of any of my successes, I am thankful to God from whom all blesings flow, and to my family and friends and friends that enrich my life.

Over the years my addres book has changed because I changed for the better.

At first you think that you are going to be alone, but after a while new people show up in your life that life so much sweeter and easier to endure.

Remember what your elders used to say, "Birds of a feather flock together."

Well, this is the 5th of February, and so far this year we've had more snow, ice and rain than the past 5 years. We've become accustomed to waking up in the mornings to yet another foot of snow. The streets are treacherous, parking is limited, and hard to get into, and the roads are very narrow. But this is our mountain, and part of why we love it so much.
With all of this bad weather my New Years' goals have been put on the back burner...at least the part about getting to the gym. Oh, and about eating better. Well I am, just more of it!
I know that I am not alone in this, as my kick boxing instructor came into the store yesterday and said her personality was actually changing without being able to do the classes! I know that the snow shoveling is doing some good for the arms, and cardio, but it's just not the same as being with the gang. I am looking forward to getting back there ASAP!
NEWS FLASH: I am starting to teach a new class at the store on Saturdays. Cooking with Whole Grains, and other Healthy Ideas. It will incorporate not only cooking and nutritional facts, but also how to get more herbs and other nutrients into your diet. It will be fun and hands on.
